Nylon is a big family, now there are more than 20 kinds. Among them, there is mainly nylon 6, its full name is polycaprolactam fiber. It is mainly used in socks, underwear, sports shirts, etc. The so-called "kasi socks" in the market are woven with nylon 6 filaments. Other clothing fabrics such as roman cloth, four-way stretch, grosgrain, etc. are all woven with nylon and other fibers. Nylon 66, the full name is polyhexamethylene adipamide fiber. This is the first polyamide fiber invented by Carles in the United States. Its use is similar to that of nylon 6, but it is particularly suitable for making products such as raincoats and folding umbrellas.
Because nylon has high strength and abrasion resistance, it is the most suitable for making socks. Originally, the viscose socks worn by people were not durable due to their low strength and poor abrasion resistance, so in the 1930s, mending socks was a frequent housework for mothers. The stockings made of nylon filament have good elasticity and high transparency. Later, in order to improve the wearing comfort, the socks were woven with curly nylon stretch silk, which stretched freely. Because the moisture absorption rate of nylon is between 3.5% and 5%, customers always feel a little lack of comfort through the comparison of long-term wear. Nylon and viscose interwoven products appeared on the market to improve this lack.
